|University museum (Fujukan), the University of the Ryukyus houses over 70,000 specimens and various exhibits, collected all over Ryukyu Islands, as part of educational and academic research activities of the university. Specimens of endangered animals such as Iriomote cat and the Okinawa rail, as well as archeological materials related to Shurijo-Castle, folklore materials including traditional crafts and farming tools of Okinawa are being exhibited at the exhibition room on first floor. In the site of the museum, there is "Biotope" where various animals and plants can be observed and it is available for field study in the school.
